Reign Hockey Tickets!
á Ontario Reign Hockey!
We are currently selling hockey tickets to attend the Ontario Reign Hockey game this Friday, Deceber 19thá at 7:00p.m. at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario.á Tickets sell for only $13 each, with $5 of each ticket sale going to CECA's 2nd Grade classrooms.
A flyer went home in all homework folders on Monday.á Please fill out the ticket request form and return it with the money to our front office or to your student's teacher.á We will then give the number of tickets you requested to your student to bring home. We have agreed to sell 300 tickets and the game is this Friday!á Please help us make this fundraiser a success, as it has been for 2 years now.á If we can sell a minimum of 185 tickets we will break even. To date we've sold 50 tickets but there's still time.á We can do this! Tickets will be available right up to game time on Friday but please call and let Mrs. Salinas know if you plan to get your tickets at the game.á If you have any questions about the fundraiser please contact Mrs.Salinas, 909-790-3207.
Fifth Graders are making Global Connections
Students in the GCC engage with Sarah Morris an executive of Microsoft via Skype in Seattle, Washington.á Sarah spoke to the students about careers in Computer Science and the importance of learning code. This tied in well with the Global Hour of Code our students participated in last week.

3rd Annual Holiday Gingerbread Creations
Congratulations to the Zinchuk Family for being named Gingerbread Grand Champion for 2014.á They were followed closely in the voting by the Rahn, Patch, Rock Family who were the Runner-up!á We appreciate the effort of all of our families who participated in bringing such awesome Holiday Cheer to the Founders Hall!
CECA Hour of Code
Students at CECA enjoying a worldwide event called Hour of Code. Hour of code is a one-hour introduction designed to explain computer science and show that anybody can learn the basics. Every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. See more stats on Code.org

CECA Robotics Teams Advance to Southern California Championships!!!
CECA Robotrons and Lego Grizzlies, two competitive robotics teams here at CECA competed in their Qualifying tournament this past Saturday, Nov 8 in Rialto. Both teams did a tremendous job and came away as Tournament Champions out of 11 teams. Teams had to present to an engineering panel, a research project focusing on a real world teaching method, demonstrate core values, present and explain why and how they built their robot, as well as put their robot through particular missions to demonstrate programming skills. Lego Grizzlies also came home with a trophy for 1st place in Robot Performance for scoring the most points on the table runs. Both teams will be competing at Legoland on Dec 6 and 7. Let's wish them luck.
Team CECA grant to add to the GCC
We are very excited that our TWIOC Foundation and Team CECA have secured a $3500 grant for the purchase of more equipment in the new Global Connections Center.á With wireless connection on the way this month, our students will be able to begin using the GCC very soon.á If you are interested in volunteer hours, we can use your help M-TH during all lunches to help make sure our students have open access to the GCC and the Library.
Yucai Chinese School Winter Session beginning 12/12/14!
Yucai Chinese school will again be offering an after-school elective in Mandarin Chinese this winter. Registration forms are in the office.
